Drake Passage

Low key day today as we sailed across the relatively calm (yay!) Drake Passage. Nothing but water. Spent time checking out all the nooks and crannies of the ship. Here I am in the Bridge taking a turn at being the Captain.

Had two presentations today—one on sea birds and another on wildlife photography. Spent time on the deck watching the many sea birds—mostly albatross and petrels. This black-browed albatross was having fun soaring around the stern with its 8 ft wingspan!

I was asked about hours of daylight. Today, at this latitude, sunrise was at 4:55 am and sunset at 10:17 pm. Of course it was twilight for a few hours on either side of those numbers, so never really dark. Off to cocktails!
