Took the Zodiacs to Brown Bluff on the Antarctic continent. That completes my travel to all seven!
Many groups don’t actually get to set foot on the continent because there are few places to land. This one was a little dicey with all the ice and started getting worse, so we had to cut our visit a little short.
There are 20,000 nesting pairs of Adele penguins here. Many were heading out to sea, first over the small icebergs (bergy bits, they’re called).
These dark brown fluffs are the babies. They’re fairly close to fledging and almost as big as their parents. The colors in the icebergs were amazing.
This was all before lunch. I'll write a second installment this evening.
